Why Did You Decide to Become a Dental Lab Technician?
Jenna became a dental lab technician because it was the perfect combination of art and allowed her to help others in a unique way. She always wanted a career that allowed her to make a positive impact on people’s lives, and this was it! Knowing that her work improves someone’s oral health and self-esteem, and even gives them the confidence to smile again after not smiling for years is deeply fulfilling for her.
Where Did You Study?
Jenna graduated with her associate’s degree in dental assisting technology and management, but it wasn’t until doing her dental internship at Ocean Oaks Dental Group of Vero Beach that she found her passion for working in the dental laboratory.
She went on to complete her dental laboratory technician training with Bart Cothran Certified Dental Technician (CDT), who is a Key Opinion Leader (KOL) for Dentsply as well as a MiYO liquid ceramic trainer. In addition to her formal training, she also has hands-on training with Dr. Bruce McDonald and is incredibly skilled in staining and glazing, CAD/CAM design software, and 3D printing, milling, and utilizing furnaces.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Whenever she isn’t working, you can find Jenna spending time with her family’s farm animals, attending different sporting events, and relaxing at the beach. She also loves going to theme parks, country concerts, and hanging out with her boyfriend and family.
